My foot is starting to hurt and so I opted for the shorter, 14K route to Dozon. I will miss seeing the Cistercians in Oseira but I wasn't sure that I could get there before noon when they close to the public. Also the climb out of Oseira is very challenging and I am a little tired. So I am off without a map and just following the signs, I have made it 5k already without problem. The route ...

... the Spanish people are wonderful and pointed me back in the right direction. From then on, it was basically trudge trudge trudge. It was very beautiful and warm. Perhaps the best part of the Camino is the solitude and time for reflection. Many things work themselves out. Had the best and most simple dinner yet. An omelet with cheese and ham and fresh tomatoes. Btw, tortilla means omelet here. Who ...

Very tired. The walk was only 23K, about 14 miles but it was all downhill and on the road I got the room at a nice hotel in Ourense. I couldn't get undressed fast enough. Had great shower with massage and then a long soak. I have just sat on the bed for hours. I even had a beer from the mini bar. Went out for a little while, ate dinner and came back. Sat on the bed more. While I was out, I saw Bob, Elizabeth and Jose-Maria. They are all Camino veterans who are on ...

... assured me that there were only 5k left. Off I went for another small hill with mud and rocks and sand. At the top, I met a bicycle tour who thought it was so funny that I was alone and from America. They all wanted to take pictures and it was such an uplift for me. I finally arrived at the Alberque around 6:45pm. We went to town for dinner and then I was out like a light. Tomorrow is into Ourense, a private hotel room with a ...

After yesterday's early stop, I had so many thoughts about MY schedule. I had two choices....find cash and shorten the next few legs or use my remaining cash to get to Ourense by bus. First, the walk today was wonderful. A very short, steep uphill followed by miles of downhill. It was so beautiful. Lots of heather like flowers and most of the walk was on a gravel road. Everything was beautiful. So, I arrive in Laza and ask for the bank. ...
