After a full night of steaming along at 18 knots, the ship drops it anchors in the crystal clear azure waters off Mykonos. No berthing on docks here, it all passenger to shore via tender boats. The town of Hora is busy with a couple of cruise ships in town. The main town is a myriad of narrow little pedestrian lanes, with the foot traffic occasionally interrupted by little trucks and vans that somehow squeeze through the narrow openings and corners, ...

... The cod was next level amazing - British-Greek fusion fish. It was huge, fresh and exactly what we felt like. The pasta salad was also good but at a level to which we could make ourselves - just a plain penné with nice balsamic and feta dressing. We washed that down with a litre of rose, as you do.

The rest of the day was pretty low key and ended up being a pretty relaxing afternoon doing not much. Jason walked back into town later to grab something ...

... dinner we explored the city, did some shopping, and went out for drinks.


Mykonos was by far my favourite town of the trip, because it gave me a chance to relax, take in some sun, and swim. I suggest that anyone going to Greece should visit one of the beautiful islands, especially the beaches. If you want to avoid the crowds but still have great weather go in late April.
