... the kids to meet their big brothers wife. All the pastors who had come on outreach in Tacloban were there as well as people we have got to know during our stay in the Philippines attended, so it was quite a party! We enjoyed a Philippino buffet enjoying rice cakes, sweet bread rolls and sweet cakes among other tasty snacks. It was lovely being together like one big happy family. During the afternoon they blessed us with prayers for our onward journey ...

All the kids are on holiday today so did not attend school. We spent this morning altogether enjoying a film 'Wreck it Ralf'. It was brilliant, they loved it! ... and the cab would only cost 150P ($3.75). When I checked at reception nobody knew anything about this

One person told me it would cost 200P, then another worker said 250P. This was getting ridiculous again when two people standing right next to each other have just given me two different prices. The owner had told me 150P and that he would be here in ...

... It gave me some perspective. I decided before I left that I would take Borrick, his wife, and Junfil to see a movie. One of the other volunteers, Kamila from Australia, was kind enough to babysit at the base while I took them out. It was probably one of the best days out of my time there. I convinced one of the other volunteers to come with me, and we took them to have pizza for the first time. They really didn't have any input on what they wanted to eat when we ...
