So Leesh got busy on the research and picked out the largest market shopping area in Rio called the Feira Nordestina Sao Cristovao, which was a stadium sized area with over 700 market stalls. So we got ready and jumped on the bus out to Sao Cristovao and arrived a bit after opening time, 10am.

On my final day we did ...

... okay but we should have taken a taxi because the bus took ages. Headed straight to the beach and I sunbathed for about 30 minutes before we went to play football with some brasilians that one of the guys started speaking to. Played for about an hour, which was great and then showered back at the hostel.

The World Cup Final On The Copacabana

... in with the handful of Germans in a rendition of 'Deutschland, Deutschland' to avoid a kicking or more likely being spat on.

The match got underway and was predictably tight early on, or so it seemed to us without commentary. One thing I've really enjoyed this World Cup is the absence of Lineker, Chiles, Tyldsley, Savage, Hansen, the lot. We've not seen one minute of British coverage throughout the whole tournament and I've not missed a second. ...
