... ceiling windows and look left, there it is! Even better is the most amazing view from the roof - I had a quick look last night, but I fully intend to spend more time up there, as it's the reason I booked this hotel!

I have had a great nights sleep - with a choice of SIX pillows, who could not! But now I'm ready to get up, shower and see what the day brings.

... earned it! Slowly we made our way back to the metro and headed to the hostel for a quick power nap and to freshen up. Everyone at the hostel raved about this pizza joint a couple blocks away. I had been on a pizza protest my entire stay in Brazil ( with the exception of our pizza and pool party we had in Natal) mostly because it was everywhere. ... before you get to Rio you have the impression that the statue is huge and can be seen from all over, which is partly true; you can see it from a lot of the city but it's a lot smaller than I anticipated. Nonetheless it was as impressive and iconic as I expected it to be.

... allegiance quiet but did enjoy singing along to the CCS cover chant 'Brasil que se siente....' with the Argentinians, although in respect to our Brazilian friends it was more the catchy melody than the content which we enjoyed. A very boring game which ended in penalties and some very happy Argentinians. Many tears were shed. ... musical warm ups onstage then it all began and the place was electric. A bit surreal watching the World Cup on Copacabana Beach in Rio! Brazil won 3-1 so afterwards the streets were covered in people celebrating - a great way to start the World Cup!
