The bridge was pretty cool because there was the ocean on one side in the distance and then the canyon on the other. When our group arrived a couple guys basically told us what would happen and all where we stand etc and then it was time! Az úti cél Knysna, egy lagúna partján fekvő nyaralóvároska, aminek a neve egybeforrt az osztrigatenyésztéssel. Látványos sziklakapuk (Knysna Heads) között áramlik be az óceán víze a lagúnába, amely helyenként hajózható mélységű, máshol viszont (apálykor?) száraz lábbal is besétálható. Be is sétáltunk, majd ezután felmentünk a keleti head-re, ahonnan az óceán és a lagúna felé is parádés kilátás égett bele a retin ...

... in South Africa and suggestions of where to go.

Today we have had one of the more restful days that we promised ourselves that we would have every now and then. A lazy morning catching up on some BBC radio podcasts and then we went our separate ways for a little while. Me, to the town museum and aquarium and Andrew to suss out a new golf course, Pinnacle Point, (surprise) just along the coast.

... Sharon (our friend and hostess) said she would take me up to the Waterfall nearby and then to the Lake at the top of the Mountain above us. It was windy and quite chilly but nice to get out in the fresh air, The Waterfall is featured in a walking book I have 'Walks with a Fat Dog' so is a well used stroll, its quite short too. The next venture was longer and being at the top extremely windy, Izzy the dog enjoyed the exercise too, it was worth the walk ...

... Pool top in Schuss und sah bombig aus. Soweit, so gut. Alles haette wund**bar sein koennen (war es am Ende ab** groesstenteils noch), wa**e mir dies** Scheiss nicht passi**t. ... Aangekomen bij de halte, begint mijn persoonlijke beproeving: Ik wil de tocht naar mijn slaapplek gaan lopen. Om voor t eerst met mijn volle bepakking - in totaal zo'n 15kg - de 7km in de zinderende zon af te gaan leggen. Ik ben aangekomen !! Voel me sterk en trots. Als beginnenling (voor het laatst met backpack gelopen in 1993, Thailand) de afstand kunnen lopen. Moe maar voldaan.

September 24--Baz Bus and Mossel Bay As the great hosts that they are, Tammy got up at 7:30 to see us off and Jay took us to the hostel where we were to get on the Baz Bus.
