Great time. Traveling rote 66 was so tiring and took for ever but want to do it again. I saw so many different thing along the way. The annual agriculture exhibition was held this weekend, and as I browsed the stalls I heard on the PA system something about bull riding etc. but did not pay much attention. Mechanical bull riding is not uncommon. Then I heard "SPCA"... and realised they were not talking about mechanical bulls but rodeo.

I went into the only pub in town at 4pm to find out if they served dinner, because the hotel said they don't serve dinner.... weird!
I did this before the Spar closed as I was not interested in going to bed hungry. Burgers was the only item on the pub menu and it was not bad at all.

Halfway through dinner a farmer in his mid 30's walked in... complete with SA ...

... dropped in at the house of the parents of the manager of the farm I am staying at. They all talked in Afrikaans so I didn't really follow a lot of what was going on but they were very friendly and gave me two bottles of wine to take away becuase their son is a winemaker in Stellenbosch down in the Western Cape where I am heading later this week! ... the customer complaints. The complaints are generally due to rotten/burst grapes or sour grapes. After work I went to the supermarket in Upington with Gert who is staying in the guesthouse and he bought some droewors for me to try. It is basically dried sausage. I expected it to have a texture a bit like a salami but actually it was quite dry and crunchy, pretty tasty. I also tried biltong at the weekend which I enjoyed. 24th Jan I went to ...
