That said, the first leg of our journey upon landing involved piling into a van and driving two hours to Umfolozi National Park – S. Africa's oldest, established in the 1800s as a hunting ground for Zulu royalty. What a Creation plunge! We watched a pack of "wild dogs" of Africa, adults and puppies (rare sighting), running and playing in the road a few meters from our 4x4. Next a pride of nine lions loped along beside ...

Once we left the park, there was a new mission.....get back to Rich's home in Umbloti (PR: OOM-SHLOH-TEE), which is about 20 KMS north of Durban, South Africa's 3rd largest city. The last couple of weeks have probably been my toughest weeks yet. A mixture of the "unknown" leading to a lot of frustration. I understand there's a process, I didn't really take part in the "process" when we first applied, in hindsight I'm grateful that others helped us out and took charge of a lot of it, we just got the approval message and that was it, we were going to Africa! The process to stay a second year has not been so smooth. It frustrates me, from where ...

I hear the phrase "Extended Ecclesial Family" a lot. And i get it, we walk into different meetings and we're welcomed in like extended family, wether it be within Melbourne or in another state. I was recently in Brisbane and visited an Ecclesia I had never been before and yet was loving welcomed in and could feel the effects of our Extended Ecclesial family. We also grow up knowing that the joy of having this type of "Family" ...
