... yesterday!!! The mixture of feelings is incredible: Sad because we are leaving this beautiful country and more importantly my family who we both adore. Anxious, and with a little bit of fear (More Elis than me I think) for the adaptation to the life that Brazil has reserved for us. But also enthusiasm and happiness for our return to other family, our friends and Elis’s home country that we have learnt to be very proud of!!!!

In the end, I was very proud of the Top 4 winners! I was also very happy to see that we had two students from my 9a and two students from my 9b class in the top four. My 9b students always feel like they are behind and separate from the other ninth graders because they are “new” and “behind” in English; yet, the first place winner was Zikhona and she is in 9b. I think this inspired the rest of her classmates greatly.

... It is a beautiful time of day. This would turn out to be one of the coldest nights and mornings on the trip so far. Camp had a number of other people, so at least we were not alone in that. Tom suffered as he has the habit of staying up late on the lap top and because he smokes he has to do it semi outside. Brrrrrr! He got into bed frozen and got up frozen.
