After the 8 hour journey we just wanted to get to a hotel room and rest. The first hotel in the book turned out to be a failure and they were fully booked, so on to the next one in the book which was on the other side of the station. We decided to get a cycle rickshaw to the other side as we had our massive bags and didn’t want to further knacker ourselves out.

... and shows signs of its 150 years. However, we marvelled at the decor, eye to detail of its former owners (artwork and layout and furniture). The few rooms that are open for visitors are unique with each having its own shape and size. It is obvious that a real effort to maintain the palace's beauty, feel and character is being made. ... one too. The street where my hotel is, is a 6 lane road with a 20 ft impeccable pavement on both sides (never mind that two wheelers are merrily zipping upon it in true Indian style ; at least it is there). I think its time to consider abandoning Bangalore, where the word pavement has not yet entered the dictionary.

Its just a night halt here and I will be on the road again come morning. Orissa is not my target this time.

I arrived yesterday evening and it was not easy to find an hotel, all full, except for a miserable and expensive room that I found after an hour of walking around the railway station.
This morning I labored to find the tourist office in Bubaneshwar and when I got there, I found that the tours begin from tomorrow, so I took a rick shaw and went in search of the temples of the Middle Ages, cute, stone ...
