Trondheim, Trondelag, Norway ehjelter... marks the crossing point. We were scheduled to go on 2 different expeditions (Chris and Melanie on a rafting trip and Jim and Martha on a glacial expedition), both of which were cancelled due to stormy weather. The boat also had to change its course. Although we were originally supposed to go to the Lofoten Islands (which Melanie was especially ...
Trondheim, Trondelag, Norway chronometers... girl, who had remembered us from the morning, that the train would be turning back at Storlien and we would have to take a bus to Trondheim. We never learnt why we had to take a replacement service but it was disappointing and much fuller than the train. The also attractive Norwegian Railways ticket inspector girl had never seen a Eurail pass before and had to deliberate for quite some time before deciding what to do with them. The morning's inspector had not touched them, we ...
Trondheim, Norway sanny... via E14 which took us back into Åre, Östersund and we camped in Hudiksvall. We had driven 1000 kms only from Trondheim back into Sweden. This was our last night of camping. It was sad to say goodbye to the tent and even the sleepless nights in the car. I sure had a great time being on the road for this long with Henrik. Sweden is a beautiful country full of life and for those of you who like your hiking and climbing this is one of the places to come and explore. The people ...
Also was macht man da? Man geht zu IKEA! Abends haben wir uns ins Trondheimer Nachtleben ...
Trondheim, Norway anne-i-norge... an hour or two before heading up the hostel to wait for the best part of the day. The night train to Bodø! We took a maxi taxi from the hostel to the train station at 10:45 pm. We boarded the train and were off to the North at 11:30! So far, the trip has been great. So much more to come. Overall, I really enjoyed Trondheim. By the pictures you'll soon see, it looks like Bergen with all its buildings right on the water. It is a great student town and I would love to come back.
Trondheim, Norway jess06... It was originally built as a cloister in the early 12th century but was fortified in the 17th century and was used as a prison and execution ground in later years. It was finally closed in 1893. During WWII, the German forces installed anti-aircraft guns here to protect the nearby submarine pens. Today is a recreational facility.
