A very wet day as forecast so very glad we got the long journey out the way yesterday as the sea state looks very choppy today. After a trip to the airport to clear in and become legal we take a hire car and head to Grada. An old town in the flats that we had thought about sailing to but given the weather we thought better to go by road! A tour of Monfalcone followed and we managed to get an Italian sim so we have wifi ...

Now 8:00 Venice time. As in 26 hours with about an hour and a half of sleep . . . Fading fast I have to say . . . We figured it took us 20 hours to get from Waterville, Maine to our convent in Venice . . . We landed in Venice around noon, stored our bike ...

... the parade – it was lovely to be out there. We strolled back and had Aparol Spritzes – yummy drink and bought some almond and nougat treats. We also spent some time trying to find where we stayed last time. San Marco Square seems always crowded but the musicians playing are great and as soon as you get back into the little laneways and canal areas it is a lot quieter. What a very special part of the world Venice truly ...
