Slovenia has only 16 miles of coastline, not much compared to Croatia's thousands of miles of coast when you include all of its islands and peninsulas. The short stretch is quite developed with an industrial port city (Koper), a swank resort (Portoroz), and a few other old towns. The one real attraction, though, is Piran, a beautiful old town on a peninsula similar to Porec and Rovinj in Croatian Istria but ...

The cards fell their way last night and we let them win so they could sleep in ...

Mrs T cooked tea - little fishy pasta - and the kids disappeared (literally) to the comedy show. And now for bed. Early start tomorrow to grab a spot on the beach. Hopefully some sleep tonight. Oh - smallies-gate turned out all right. The Dutch/ English relations are still ...

... on the water busses is that there are often 20-30 mins between them. So although you might be at the stop and ready to go, you're stuck for awhile. And that happened this morning. It was 1 by the time we got to Burano, and the trip was 50 mins on the last bus rather than 30 and we had to switch busses. First stop once we got there was for food, since we were worried all the places might be closing soon. We each got (and finished) a pizza and were feeling ...
