      ... was chicken ratatouille and we had a chocolate mousse for dessert. The restaurant we dined at had magnificent views of Monaco and I've attached some of the photos from there.       ... Monaco and took the high road back to Nice. This road was more through the mountain side. A bit of a slow, steady climb out of Monaco but great decent into Nice! Along the way, another diversion found as at a Medieval Castle in Eze. The castle is a major tourist attraction and has a fully functioning hotel (although I'd hate to be the porters lugging cases up and down the steep and slippery entry) several restaurants and plenty of shops.

      Nice was an unexpected adventure. I hadn't been particularly looking forward to Nice on this trip as I largely saw it as a pass through on the way to Italy.       ... chill to it - time to head
      back to Menton.

      All in all, the French Riviera is
      not a place I would hurry back to. nor is it a place i would recommend
      to fellow travelers. There are far more interesting places to go to than
      here.
