... 1840’s. The Port River is home to a pod of dolphins, the only dolphins known to inhabit an urban environment. Sadly due to pollution and an increase in the number of boats using the river dolphin numbers are in decline and unless the river can recover the dolphins may disappear altogether. Woke up, got ready and went outside to be picked up by Hazel & Hayden.
They were already there, so after introductions we got in their car. They said they'd take us around to see a few sights.

First place we stopped at was the Murray River, there were Cockatoos everywhere. They're not too keen on them as they destroy everything! Adelaide's water supply comes from the Murray River when their water is getting low. Apparently Adelaide's water tastes the worst of all ...

... down to the beach and I even braved dipping a toe in the sea - having previously decide to stay well away due to the sharks that lurk there. Afterwards we went down to the river on a dolphin cruise and were lucky enough to see some. ... zum Glück gab es ja noch einen Canyon, den uns der Ranger empfohlen hatte. Auf einer Schotterpiste ging es also zum Sacred Canyon, in dem uns faszinierende Felskunst erwarten sollte, nicht einmal die Aboriginis wussten, woher diese Malerei stammte, die in Form von mysteriösen Kreise überall auf der hochaufragenden Felswand des Canyons zu sehen waren. Ungefähr so war uns das ganze angepriesen worden. Was wir sahen, war dann so enttäuschend öde, dass es schon fast wieder lustig war. ...
