Salut Paris!

... which I thought was pretty funny because I orginally read it as "Ohallo". We cycled around Paris and our guide pointed out some pretty amazing sights such as the louvre, eiffel tower, napoleans tomb, musee d'orsay, the grand and petite palais, the obelisk taken from egypt, hotel invalides and assemble nationale. We then had lunch with the tour at a cafe where I discovered the "croque monsieur" which is basically the most yummiest ham and cheese toastie imaginable.

Our tour ...

Snails, stalkers and sunshine!

... homeless guy and put the sprinkler on him! The gardener finally cottoned on to what was going on and took the sprinkler off of her but she was extremely pleased with herself! The poor guy took the not so subtle hint and moved himself to the bus stop over the road.
Not long after this two other homeless guys came along and we were sure they would receive a frosty reception, but no, they were greeted with hugs and smiles and joined her on the bench.
She obviously enjoyed ...

Paris!

... we got into Paris around 10pm and walked to our hotel from the station. My most favorite feature about the hotel, without a doubt would be the moldy shower with the shower head that you had to hold yourself. In our flat we have a nickname for one of our roomates, Pammy, we call her "Hurricane Pammy;" because whenever she takes a shower the floor is always soaking wet when she is done. Long story short, the detached ...

Paris!

... they were trying to make Paris more business oriented, so they built this part of the city. The Parisians didn't like it though because it wasn't pretty or something, so now it's just a small part of the city that not a lot of people hear about. The Arch was pretty cool, and there was a huge Christmas market right by it. I actually really really liked this part of the city. I definitely want to come back and look around more. We walked up to this big Christmas tree type ...

... done, and I awaited mine. I watched him walk away, grateful for my Brian, but envious of his youth and beauty, completely beyond my reach. Or not so! As the baker boxed my pizza, I bought a blood-orange fanta and began the three block walk back to the hotel when I heard, "Madame! Madame!" from somewhere just behind me. I stopped and turned around, and there was trainstopper, smiling and hurrying to catch up to me. He still had his unopened pizza box in his hand. He said that he ...

... representation of France. In one, there are paintings of every region in France and each paintng shows their contribution to France. For example, Brittany is well known for its contribution of fish and other sea creatures. Another room that we saw was split into three categories: art, music and science. Each had their own paintings to illustrate its importance in France and in society. Apparently, we didn't go into two more rooms due to a time crunch, but it was really neat. On ...

The Louvre

I took a couple of Art History classes in college, but I never imagined I would ever see these ancient masterpieces in person! We meandered the labyrinthian halls of the magnificent Louvre, palace and home to generations of French monarchs! I was awed by the muraled ceilings and gold leaf oranamentation of so many walls and doorways...and that was just the structure of the museum, itself. We viewed the Mona Lisa, amidst a large group of ...

... over a year - no need to wear your thongs in the mercure!!! Eiffel Tower the first night, so nice to go up the top at night as I had done it in the day last time. The next day was a big day of walking. First stop was the Arc de Triomphe, which we went up the top of. Absolutely amazing view of Paris! I took lots of photos for you all to see. Then we walked down the Champs Elysee, had a drink for ...

Last Days in Paris

This was the last day we were in Paris. I would have posted this and all of the images on he actually last day, but they made us change hotels on the last day for some reason. I finally got the metro down to our dorm, then they went and moved us al the way the middle of the city. Paris was a lot of fun, a little too crowded though, and it wasn't even tourist season yet ...
