... After lunch the 5 of us went for a boat ride around Lake Garda which was beautiful. The captain even let each of the boys have a turn steering the boat which they thought was pretty cool. We were then going to go and have a look through a castle but it closed at 1pm! We didn't realize this and got there at 1.30pm. Oh well! We had dinner at the cafe downstairs from our hotel with John Daniela, and then when back to our rooms to pack up ready to head to ...

... The number of cars heading into the car park was insane! This time of year Gardland is only open on the weekends. We got a map and it took us a little while to sort out the best way to proceed. Bergamo
We came into this town after a long day and didn't find our apartment until 7 o'clock.
The Citte Allta is as it's name says the city on top. It is accessed now by a 100 year old funicular running up a 52% grade. Not exactly cyclable! There were no tourists there early in the morning as other than the churches nothing was ...

Moneglia today Bardolino by tolls

Today we travelled from Moneglia to Bardolino, Lake Garda in northern Italy. We travelled through a 6 km one-way converted train tunnel to leave Moneglia. We missed the green light by 1 min and had to wait 20 mins before it was our turn!! It rained most of the 3.5 hours drive over fantastic autostrada's and it cost about €30 in tolls. We had such perfect weather over the last week we didn't mind ...
