Just crossed border into Italy (very excited) .Temperature went up by 10 degrees and style of houses changed completely.There is also loads more trucks on the road. ... was one way traffic only, controlled by traffic lights. Switchback upon switchback, and even having the whole road to yourself, you still didn't end up with a lot of road. All the while the rain was bucketing down. Instant waterfalls were appearing along the cliff face, with the water fortunately being contained behind extensive walls and captured within massive drains.

Very relaxed and pretty walk along the stream and mill run. Once past the junction of the canal with the stream, continued on (and up) to the tiny church of San Silvestro. ... well equipped, in super condition and prepared for the long haul, the trail did go further up into and across the mountains.
Not us.

Going down was only marginally easier than going up. While less effort was required, due to the degree of slope and treacherous terrain and leaves, more concentration was essential.

Made it down in one piece, having passed our neighbours still on the way up.
