Historical Traveler Reviews of Prima Lepic Montmartre Paris

Very nice little hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We visited Prima Lepic from 17-22 september 2004. We had ordered 1 singleroom and 1 twinroom with separate beds. We unfortunately got one doublebed, and asked to change room. They managed that in 15 minutes, and we got a lovely room with separate beds. Very good service from the staff!

The rooms were clean and tasteful.

We had windows out against the noisy street, but with windows closed it was no noise. We opened our bathroom window against the backyard instead... :)

I would love to visit Prima Lepic again, and recommend this hotel to all who don`t need a lot of fascilities

A taste of French Culture

from xeubguy
Visited Prima Rue Lepic July 16-20, 2004.

Lovely little hotel in a great area. Lots of nice little shops around, some great cafe's and restaurants. Staff very friendly. Lite breakfast not that great, but you can easily go up or down the steet to a little cafe and enjoy the French past time of people watching while you enjoy a lite breakfast.

No air conditioning in our room so it was quite hot and muggy for sleeping. Kept the windows wide open, fortuneatly not too much street noise. Had more noise from some noisy kids in the room aboves us. Narrow staircases.

Rooms well maintained, bathrooms updated.

Quads didn't have any sitting room.

Overall I would recommend as a strong 2 star hotel.

Excellant Value

This is a charming and pretty budget hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We asked for a room at the back of the hotel as Rue La Pic is a busy street. We enjoyed a quite, clean room with a compact bathroom. The surrounding streets are full of cafe's and you are within a short walk of the Metro, the tour bus stops and the little bus that takes you to the Sacre-coeur. The Moulin Rouge is at the bottom of Rue La Pic as are the sex shops and peep shows, fine by day but avoidable at night, unless that's why you are there!

I would recomend this hotel to anyone on a budget who doesn't want to stay in a dull hotel chain.

Quaint accommodation, courteous staff

from Vanessa_Barker_2004
Just arrived back from a three night stay which I booked as a surprise birthday treat for my husband. We were certainly not disappointed. The hotel has just been awarded three star rating. The attractively tiled entrance hall set the scene for the rest of this quaint, romantically styled property. The staff were great and we were lucky enough to get a four poster room together with a balcony overlooking the street. The breakfast was self service with a lovely selection of fresh bread, croissants etc. We found the double glazing kept out any traffic noise (since the hotel is set on quite a busy street). We found a moderately priced yet excellent little restaurant nearby called La Gallerie, which like this hotel, we can highly recommend!

Darling Hotel

from Metaphorik
We stayed at the Prima Lepic 2 years ago and had such a great time we decided to stay here again. GREAT location! There are several markets close at hand, the metro is near, and there are numerous darling little shops within a couple of blocks. The front desk people are outstanding and can arrange anything you want to do while in Paris. Last trip the breakfast dining area was great, and this year the first four days were great, but the woman that worked Friday and Saturday was absolutely horrible. She sat in the kitchen chatting and laughing with her friends while every table was dirty and several guests stood for 15 minutes for a seat. I finally took two trays into the kitchen an put them on the counter. This was after one woman asked several times for her to clean a table. At one point I tried to go up the stairs to our room just past the kitchen door and apparently the 2 seconds of waiting annoyed this weird woman and she pardoned me, and then attentioned me. About the third attempt to yell attention to me, I turned around and said "Look. The next attention you give me, we are going to have a real problem here". She stood there with an amazed look on her face and then finally chilled out. I would have fired her on the spot! The rest of our trip was delightful and we will definately stay in this hotel our next trip too. I may tie this nasty little woman up and hide her in the kitchen during our stay however! A great, cute, and charming little hotel with a lot of character.

Lovely little place

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here for 3 nights in october and found this to be a charming little place in a excellent location. The entrance hall is clean and bright and this theme continues throughout the hotel.Breakfast is typically french and we found that the staff were always willing to help. The hotel is approx a 2 min walk downhill to the nearest metro station and 5 min from the moulin rouge, some sex bars are close but we found them to be pretty discreet and could pass them at night without feeling hassled. Cafes and bars are all around but can be a bit pricey although good choice of food is available(remember beef cooked rare in france means very rare to us english!) On the whole we found this to be a excellent base for sightseeing in paris and would have no hesitation in going back.

A charming little hotel

My husband and I were both happy with our stay with Hotel Prima Lepic.

We were there last week and we missed the place already. It was a charming hotel with nicely decorated room and they clean the room everyday. The staff were friendly and courteous and more importantly they speak English. They offer a good selection of breads, yogurt and cheese for breakfast. The location has a certain character and feel.

There are decent restaurants in the area and there are so many stores you can buy food from. It is very convenient because of the two metros nearby (Blanche and Abbesses). The only drawback is that it is not situated in a quiet area. So, if you are sensitive to noise of a busy street, then it may not work for you. Overall though, it is one of the hotels we are looking forward to come back to.

Prima-Lepic Review

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just returned from a five day stay at the Prima-Lepic. Hotel was good for the price, location was bad. The rooms were european...small, limited extras, clean, and nicely decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bad.....it's located on a noisy, busy, dirty sidestreet attached to a major thoroughfare in Montmarte (a couple blocks up from the Moulin Rouge) that is full of strip clubs and bars. Sleep was scarce and shallow at best. We shared the night with the sounds of honking horns, high heels on the sidewalk, and drunks stumbling home at 2:00. It was close to the Blanche Metro Stop, but you could probably find a comparable hotel in a better location. If you are familiar with Dallas, it would be like staying in Deep Ellum.

An absolute pleasure

My sister-in-law and I had never been to France before and don't speak the language. As two young women we were nervous about traveling on our own. We had a wonderful trip and really loved the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was so quaint and very Parisian.

The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathrooms were good size.

Everything was always very clean and neat and tidy. We were there shortly after the interior was remodeled and during the remodel of the exterior. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts. The breads were delicious and we were amazed at the breakfast selections. We had not expected nearly so much. Some people cautioned us about the area, but we were careful and never had any troubles. We loved the location being near the metro and so many cute little shops and restaraunts nearby. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris. For the price it can't be beat.

Parisian Find

from dleeseymo
My 19 year old daughter and I made our first trip to Paris this past winter. Being a travel agent, I have fairly high standards for accomodations, but, am always in search of moderate properties of high quality. The Prima Lepic more than met my criteria. This adorable hotel exudes a true feel of Paris. The "Laura Ashley" like decor lends a feeling of romance to the rooms and we found the bathroom with marble trim quite large compared to many European hotels. The complimentary toiletries, made in France, added a special touch. There was also a coffee maker in the room. Their complimentary continental breakfast included croissants, yogurt, cheeses, cereal and the like. Quite a large spread by any standard. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The hotel location was great, only a couple of blocks to the nearest Metro station. My daughter and I enjoyed the many boutiques, floral and candy shops in the neighborhood. Many people commented on the "wiseness" of two single women staying in this district. We encountered no problems, we just used common sense and didn't wander the streets after 11:00pm. I do not hesitate in recommending this hotel to my friends and clients alike. I believe that if this hotel was located more centrally in Paris you would pay 2-3 times the price. Maybe we should keep it a secret!
