... We found the local tourist information centre who recommended that we continue on to Skojka Loka which was another 16kms. All downhill from here. Without the hair pin turns from yesterday, it was probably my favourite cycling part yet. At one stage we were cycling next to a river, with lots of purple and white wild flowers, and a mountain on the other side. It was glorious.

... like I was in a scene from The Hobbit or The Lord Of The Rings. There was even a narrow bridge that crossed high above the river and at one point I was tempted to stand at the end and cry out, "You shall not pass!" I snuck in a sneaky pic or two.... or twenty, and walked the cave floor path through the large cavern and ascended toward daylight and out the large gaping cave exit.
After walking to a viewing point where we could see the river water racing out of the cave ...

Ljibljana is really pretty and small enough to see the old town in a day. We visited the castle above the city and we climbed the tower. It was my sort of tower - very even steps and handrails all the way. As in many of the places we've visited, the old buildings have been developed to house displays and host musical & other events.

The rest of the exhibit concentrates on WWI, WWII and difficult years that followed, their fight for independence, their struggle to adjust to capitalism and build a new life. There was a 30-minute film on WWI and as much as it interests me, my eyes were shutting. I was so tired and still am and the tour bus will be picking me up at 8:20am on Sunday morning!
