      ... We found the local tourist information centre who recommended that we continue on to Skojka Loka which was another 16kms. The disappointment was massive hence it was off to the pub to grab something to eat. More disappointment followed... No food. It was now 7 hrs since we'd eaten and the worms were wriggling around in my empty stomach like a tin rattler on Good Friday. Not only was there no food but the waitress was as friendly as ...

      ... who was flying up the hill, managed to slow down to let us know that our lost friend was found, and all ok.

      All downhill from here. Without the hair pin turns from yesterday, it was probably my favourite cycling part yet. At one stage we were cycling next to a river, with lots of purple and white wild flowers, and a mountain on the other side. It was glorious.

      Our travel from Kobarid to Ljubljana was picturesque but very windy because we followed the Soca River Valley. So the motorway presented as respite for the driver.Having visited the world war 1 museum in Kobarid before we left, we had a later start. The war museum is sobering and given our driving experience through this area, we engaged a bit more with the adversity that soldiers faced.
