... I wasn't aware of how close she had really been, I still held my breath and expected a big paw to come flying. You realise that the two animals that look solute and cuddly when Kevin deal with them are in reality still wild creatures and nobody has a say in what they might do next. In hindsight, despite the slight fear that came over me, it was still an absolutely magical morning and we also got a fantastic opportunity to talk to Kevin who stuck around our truck and told us a ...

    • pay bills

Although not the most organised of people, ...

... We passed on the optional elephant rides and headed back to the car.

We drove for another hour through rural villages to Pilansberg National Reserve. We ate lunch in the resort restuarant and then headed back to our chalet. It is basic but clean, with two single beds (twin) and a bathroom, fridge and kettle. We had a little patio and place to barbecue or braai as they call it in South Africa. We read, slept and relaxed - it felt good to just ...

... the introductions up by stating our purpose for being at the school and asking if the students had any questions for us.

    No one raised their hand.

After some prodding and pulling of teeth, however, one girl in the very last row of the classroom raised her hand. “I have a question for her,” she said, pointing at me. This was exciting and I wondered what question she could possibly have. Would it be about California or dancing or teaching or ...
