san jose del cabo, Mexico flitterjahr... we did some of our own sight-seeing. We strolled the boardwalk Malecon and decided we could not leave Ensenada without trying some fish tacos. After all, fish tacos were invented in Ensenada, so we had to splurge to see what the rage was all about. The taco stands back onto a large open air fish market (Mercado Del Mariscos) which serve the vendors with fresh fish straight from the ocean. Fish Tacos are ...
La Jolla, Mexico mikeandger... internet café where we briefly checked our email messages. It was a happy moment when we opened the email from Ireni (Geraldine's sister) which advised us that Geraldine had been excused from jury duty. For those that don't know, Geraldine received a summons to jury duty on December 21, 2006...yep, the day before we left Calgary. Jury duty was scheduled for January 26, 2007 and the mere thought of having to push back out ...
La Jolla, Mexico mikeandger... the Volunteer Fire departemnt bake sale back home. The Lord had spoken....the rest is history- the boy "Lucas" who ran up to greet us is the grandson of Lucas the founder of Rancho Sordo Mudo. His dad is now the director of the school where there are currently 31 students ages 6-18. This is the abbreviated version but suffice to say we are more than happy we stopped here and definitely received more than we gave... thanks for lookin'
Valle de Guadelupe, Mexico tambrogdon... husk and steam it for two hours. Devine. My FAVOURITE Mexican food. I also learned that the Mexicans eat dried meat - similar to biltong and make Mochaka. Fine biltong strips with onion, tomato and chilli. Use this as a tortilla filling. Well Maria entertained me to no end. We spend two days cooking in the kitchen ( typically Morgan ) and learning Spanish. To Maria and Patricia at El Sauzel, Thank you so much for all my Spanish and Cooking lessons.
El Sauzel, Mexico janetmorgan... I pulled up a chair to the rail with some people and pretty sat and relaxed watching the land disappear for a really long time. I guess until the life boat alarm went off. Okay, Ill I have to say about the life boat drills is that they are pretty much the worst thing everrr. Even ignoring that my back went out in the middle and agirl behind me almost throwing up all over me...it was still pretty bad. I am not looking ...
Ensenada, Mexico ambers... I'm heading in the opposite direction in search of my lost luggage. My US Airways flight was grounded in Toronto after the plane's engine failed. After we'd boarded. Twice. The upshot: flying business class on American Airways instead. The downside: not having my luggage arrive in San Diego on the same flight. On the Other Side ("el Otro Lado", as Mexicans call the US) a trolley system takes passengers into the heart of San Diego. My ...
Ensenada, Mexico darkstarWe stayed in good all ensenada of baja california in Mexico. went right through the border like a breeze. Very interesting, looked poverty stricken, later talked with some people who said how, they make their homes look awesome from the inside out. Looking at the outside might look like nothing, but the inside is full of beautifull tiles and such.
Ensenada, Mexico kailastarlite... tv/splash/cl_win ners.htm Then the shooters... In Mexico you don't just take a shot - the shot takes you. The waiter forces the shot down then shakes your head followed by flipping your legs over your head... And the ladies well that's even worse. Greg had a list of 10 things he had to accomplish for the batchelor party that he readily worked through... The rest of us drank away and enjoyed the chaos.
Ensenada, Mexico travisdgWe went on a very bumpy ride to Ensenada. When we got there we visited a winery, and Mum and Dad tasted some wine. After that we took a bus back to America, Los Angeles. Raymond's Travel Page
