Ensenada Day Trip

... was an infectious atmosphere but we did manage to stick to only one beer each. After one last walk past the port, we resigned ourselves to the fact that we were not going to see Carolyn and Jouni, so we headed back to camp. On the way, we passed a Wal-mart and could not resist stopping in for milk and eggs. Once inside we were surprised to see an entire fruits / vegetables section as well as a bakery, just ...

... is a natural marine geyser that spouts water and air up to 75 feet in the air.....the distance changes depending on who you ask.....we have heard as low as 60 feet and as high as 100 feet. In any event, the tides have carved a deep underwater canyon over thousands of years and the surge of ocean swells gets sent through the canyon into an underwater cave. Water and air enter a narrow tunnel to the cave and escape through ...

... us to come and eat at the school for breakfast in the morning at 7:30 (if we only knew what time zone we are in LOL!!). Just before dark, Kevin showed up with a big pot of soup and his 8 year old son carrying bowls and spoons and a ladle. It was delicious and we didn't have to cook! Kevin talked to us for quite a while and gave the history of the Rancho Sordo Mudo (deaf ranch): 47 years ago a man and wife "Lucas & Miriam Holmes ...

Cooking up a storm in Mexico

... Sauzel - is the cleanest and "homeliest" place I have seen on my travels. For company you get the two grey cats and two dogs, blanco ( white ) and negro ( black ). Maria took me to all her favourite food stands on the street where we stuffed ourselves with Tamales and Tortillas one night. Tamales are made from cornflour or mealie meal. You put some meat or chicken stew in the middle of the flour that has been flavoured with stock. Wrap it in a ...

... and toll fees for most of the vehicles. So I found that pretty weird. It seems like it would make it impossible for the average person to drive anywhere because they would have to pay so much. Maybe that's the point, who knows??? Finally, everyone in Mexico seems to only drive pick up trucks. This was interesting because pretty consistently there were the men inside the cab of the truck and all the women and children in ...

Border Line Blues

... bus to Ensenada--the small city an hour and a half south of the border where Amanda lives and works as an English teacher--leaves Tijuana at 8, and we have just an hour and a half to make the airport and back. It's mission impossible, and after a few false starts and countless announcements updating us on the situation, we decide to throw up our hands and head back to the border. We've made it half way to the airport shuttle but the ...

aloh, my first time in mexico

We stayed in good all ensenada of baja california in Mexico. went right through the border like a breeze. Very interesting, looked poverty stricken, later talked with some people who said how, they make their homes look awesome from the inside out. Looking at the outside might look like nothing, but the inside is full of beautifull tiles and such.

The waiter forces the shot down then shakes your head followed by flipping your legs over your head... And the ladies well that's even worse. Greg had a list of 10 things he had to accomplish for the batchelor party that he readily worked through... The rest of us drank away and enjoyed the chaos.

Back to civilization

We went on a very bumpy ride to Ensenada. When we got there we visited a winery, and Mum and Dad tasted some wine. After that we took a bus back to America, Los Angeles. Raymond's Travel Page
