One Night in Bangkok....
We got a taxi from Kampot to Phnom Penh and the journey was surprisingly smooth and quick, only taking just over 2 hours meaning we arrived before check in was even open. We didn't have to wait long though and were first in the queue to check in for the short flight to Bangkok. We were again flying with Bangkok Air and made use of the free lounge …
Bangkok, last stop in Thailand
We couldn't leave Thailand alone so we decided to go back to Bangkok for a few days.
This time we stayed on Soi 11 and had a room in the Presidents palace that whilst on budget gave us club room access which meant free cocktails between 4.30 and 8.30 and free snack type food in the evening. This was enough for us to eat so we had no …
Saying goodbye to Thailand
Focused on seeing the last temple on our wish list, we repeated the Skytrain/ferry journey of yesterday. Now seasoned pros on the train the trip went even smoother. The wat's name is Wat Arun.
Wat Arun is a 86 meter high Khmer-inspired tower that served as the royal chapel. Most notable, the exterior is decorated with ceramic s********* …
Wat a Day!
Today was temple day. I guess technically Wat Day. Thankfully our hotel is close to the excellent Skytrain system in Bangkok. It is clean and very easy to use. We took the train to central pier where we got a full day pass for the Chao Phraya Tourist Express boat. This boat sails up and down the river making stops along the way for different points …

Blissful stay in this extremely comfortable hotel. Room was top notch and really good size. Private wifi was extremely fast. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a huge selection and was very tasty.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Bangkok. The hotel is great, the facilities are amazing, the rooms are big, the staff is friendly, breakfast is soo nice and has a wide variety. The location is great too as there is a lot to do around Sukhumvit. There are loads of places to eat and near the hotel there is a BTS station so you can travel around using the local transport in Bangkok.
The only qualm i had was when we first arrived the reception staff greeted me when a half hearted grin whilst having a heated debate to someone on the phone in what i guess was Thai. But the rest of the staff made up for her lack of hospitality.
