... dinner until about 8:00 p.m. – but from that point on, the joint was jumping! Our meal, like many in this part of Europe, started with a meat plate which included proscuitto and salami. This was followed by bread and "chip puffs" - not sure what these are actually called but they were very light, puffy and delicious.

We are at a pizzeria so of course, the main meal was ...

A wonderful evening was had luxuriating in the thought of lie ins, no schedule and long lunches. The weather forecast looks amazing for the week, the fridge is full and we have plenty of Limoncello. ... He wrote the opera Rigoletta here. Based on the Duke of Mantova's court Jester, Rigoletta, and his daughter Gilda. The Duke, a Gonzaga (of course) was having an affair with Gilda, which , needless to say , did not end well.

After 5 days , it was time to bid the Gonzagas and their excesses farewell...........Onto Verona , setting for Romeo and Juliette...... That didn't end well either ......

Ciao for now .... Rosalinda and Noel xxxx
