... out we saw some Maseratis (made in Modena) leaving the factory. This area really is super car heaven, with Pagani and Lamborghini also made close by.
We made it to our hotel in North Milan in the late afternoon and stopped in for a very nice meal in the hotel restaurant. As this is a business hotel and it is the weekend, we managed to pick up a suite at a very reasonable price with the hotel being next to a station and closer to the lakes.
... where Mozart played soon after its inauguration. Also explored the Palazzo del Te (more pics) and the different quaint piazzas. What a delightful North Italian town.

Today we left the villa early and started our 4 hour drive toward Emilia-Romagna and Parma. We stopped at a rest stop off the autostrada at the half-way point--it was unlike any rest stop we have in the States. A quick coffee and some shopping later, we were on our way to Parma for lunch. ... the F1's. 31 of them are kept in Maranello and you have to be invited by Ferrari to buy one! Then we were transported to the factory that develop the crank shafts and cylinder heads. Area was immaculate, relatively quite and full of trees and plants. Then off to the production line, this was amazing. A moving belt moves every 19 minutes to a new station where a particular job is done on the car. Pressure! That was V8's and V12's are moved along every 72 mins. 31 cars are produced ...
