As we set off the rain stopped but it was still quite chilly. The river flows past the campsite and through the town. Swollen with snow melt it is one of the fastest flowing rivers we have seen.
... noticed big birds in the adjacent field - Storks!! About 7 or 8 picking amongst the old corn stalks. it wasn't long before they took off, whirled overhead a while and set off northwards. They must have arrived from Africa, using the same pass over the Pyrenees as we would be using.

... gear, which we stowed in a locker at the base of the gondola. The apartment was a five minute walk from the gondola, had a spectacular view of the mountain, and was full to bursting with English language books, which was a welcome bonus after nearly seven months travel.

Clean and very well presented! Junior suite is huge - enormous bed, huge sofa, humongous bathroom, mini bar (free bottle of cava!), bathrobes and slippers, 2 televisions (1 near the sofa, 1 near the bed!!), free wi-fi - what else could you need!
