... for the rides. There were two awesome rollercoasters too. One was a huge oldschool wooden one, and that was nuts. It felt like it'd never stop, you get a really good ride out of it. My second favourite ride was an awesome modern rollercoaster, it had 2 loops, 2 sideways loop things and a double corkscrew. Really good stuff. I'd never been on a flying carpet ride thing either (like a swinging ship without the swinging, just ...
Serris, Île-de-France, France gavin.edgley... i.e., english....no, none! it was all strictly french. I´ve decided that after being in london, im not a fan of paris...sorry to say it to all those in love with paris, but i just thought it was completely grafitti ridden and dirty! that doesn´t mean that it´s all bad though. Omg, the food is just phenomonal. As soon as john and i got on a bus from the trainstation, we snuck a quick look at the eiffel tower and headed for food! I was just ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France heisler7... loved it. While I was in Paris I met a couple of girls from Korea, so I hung out with them a little bit. My last night there we went on a little night boat cruise which was kinda cheesy, but still fun. I also managed to learn a little about Korea, (did you know they start calculating your age from conception and not birth?) and even learned to read a little Korean, turns out not as hard as I thought! Speaking of learning a language. Everyone wants to ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France gocubs... was not all bad though because it gave us a chance to go the museum d'Orsay that we had wanted to go to but did not have time when we were first in Paris. The Museum d'Orsay is most famous for its collection of 19th century Impressionist work (Monet, Van Gogh, Manet, Renoit are among some of the more famous). Definitely a cool art museum (especially if you're getting ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France josh.lambden... our fast food would be... we quickly found our tasty Ham and Swiss sammiches and sat down at a bench in front of St Germain des Pres church. We ate our sammich and drank our Oranginas! yum yum. Marc didn't like the orangina as much as just getting water.. but I loved it! He agreed that, although there was too much Swiss (he took some off), these sammiches were really good. The ...
Paris, France aurora813... only proper measure of a nation's greatness, kind of like Spartan basketball and Wolverine football. The historic perspective at the Carnavalet included many precious documents, including a draft of the Declaration of Indpendence, with many edits and rewrites. One can be grateful there were no word processors in their day, as those revisions give historians an opportunity to understand the thought processes of the writers. At ...
Paris, France travelingmomJuly 28-August 3 We have had quite a week in Paris! We left Vacqueyras on Sat., July 28, headed toward Paris. We had barely gotten 10 km, and Micki wanted to stop at a small town market for bread and fruit, and possibly cheese for lunch. We ended up staying for an hour and a half and bought some clothes for Makenna and a cool sweatshirt for Micki and Delaney. I bought a small pocket knife to cut cheese and salami during our picnics. Paris is about a 6-7 hours drive from Vacqueyras, so ...
Paris, France earlgirl94... the round-about of Etoile for 20 minutes you would see at least one minor accident. I only have to wait five minutes before seeing a motorcycle plow into the side of car, but the speeds are thankfully low so the only result is some swearing that I can hear from atop the arc. From the arc, I strolled down the Champs Elysees, where I looked in the window of Cartier's and actually went into the Louis Viton store. I've never been so intimidated by fashion before, I spent ...
Paris, France beaniePretend it is August 4, 2006. (had no time for internet till now and time is ticking so this will be short) Ok, so we arrived in Paris this afternoon. "That is not a good smell!" has been a saying that was said alot. We checked into our hostel, and then headed straight for Montmarte & the ...
Paris, France philvandyk... the Magic Unlimited service on this ride as they should have been, so in order to acheive our 3 consecutive rides in a row, we had to requeue each time. It worked out well as we rode in the middle of the train, then the back and then the front over our 3 turns. We considered purchasing an onride photo, but the 15 Euros seemed a little expensive. From the coaster we headed to Cinémagique, a movie/show with rain and things popping out from the screen and pyrotechnics where a ...
