Getting closer to the Cote d'Azur in Montpellier, although this city is not built right on the French Riviera, it is close enough to be able to travel to a beach for an afternoon and get your Fall tan on.

We quite liked this city….however had an interesting experience with our "hostel." To keep it short, I’m glad I was not by myself, as this guy checking us in totally creeped me out, and everyone else for that matter. He wanted the payment in ...

Pack up at gite as we have to leave today. Goodbye to lovely grandparents, Pirette and Serge and the rest of family at Ecole de Saint Roman. We cannot go too far as Patrick has a dentist appointment for a broken tooth later this afternoon. So Aigues-Mortes again, this time to walk the ramparts. Hard to complain at this prospect but we are both disappointed and fed ...

... well. The new parts have been fitted but the differential was found to be full of thin metal shavings and is basically knackered. Thomas tells me that it may survive 3 kilometres or 300. He does not know! I manage to pay up and get away without crying. This is probably the end of the cycling for this trip and we have hung around for nearly three weeks to find ...

      Day 24 - Montpellier

A travel blog entry by aliceshaw on Jun 03, 2013

Today has been a really good day! Ran this morning, the sun was already making it's mark. Lessons were about drugs and addictions and had a lot of legal strings! Then a coffee in the sun with Deborah, Phil and Emily who arrived today from England! Great group of people. Spent the afternoon at Deborah's apartment doing our homework and chatting, then I went ahead to another language exchange while Debs had a ...
