Getting Ready

... I have not been able to set up the donations feature on the blog yet. It looks like you have to pay to allow people to offer you their hard earned cash to earnest pilgrims via Paypal. Perhaps, I can work out some sort of payroll deduction with the readers of this blog... and in return, I'll deliver your prayers to Santiago and you will then receive your "get out of purgatory free" card. Read up on the Camino and you'll see that the pilgrims ...

"Gay" Paris

... the menu didn't excite him so we found an alternative close by. I couldn't resist, the special for the day was Duck a l'orange, it melted in my mouth, mmmmmmmm, I do love the food in Paris. The next day I rose a bit later than usual (the day before had been long!) and after breakfast we headed for the Louvre. It is HUGE, I don't know if it is the largest museum in the world but it must go close. The guide books say it would take 9 months to see all the contents, we thought ...

We'll always have Paris...

... to name but a few. The meat counter was replete with roasts, fillets, brochettes, sirloins and other beautiful and appetizing cuts of beef. One could easily get lost in the Epicerie, but it would be a nice kind of lost: smelling (and eating, if one got lost long enough to get hungry) all these beautiful foods, a feast for the eyes as well as the other senses. I bought some coffee from Cameroon, and two peaches (no chocolate, I swear!), and headed back outside. My idea was to ...

To Paris We Go

... I do that a lot, though, so it was all good. The cab ride was uneventful, except for my mom's laptop falling on the ground with a loud thud. That was fun! Luckily, it still worked later. St. Pancras wasn't interesting, but it was well decorated. Besides that, the security was almost as annoying as the airports. To make matters worse, our train was supposed to leave at 11:05 and we were supposed for board 20 minutes beforehand. Come 10:45 they told us it was ...

The Crash

... was a group of about 5 roller bladers launching themselves into the air about 6-9 feet high. It was cool... they definately had the croud going. We soon passed this group and came upon a goup of fire dancers. We stood there taking pics of the cathedral and watched them do their thing. Unfortunately the bushes near our post were full of urine, so we didnt stay long. We did get some pretty cool pics though. Tomorrow we plan to check out the Louvre and hit up the night bike tour.

National Ballet of Paris

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, my great-grandmother danced in the corps du ballet at the opera house in Paris with the professional company. She traveled to the states as part of a tour, fell in love with my great-grandfather, and she married, quitting her role as a dancer. Nevertheless, her passion for dance flowed from her veins through two generations and boiled to the brim ...

The Gibushon continues

... really look into yourself and understand yourself more deeply. That was the peak of the Louvre experience and at that point we decided to leave and to walk a bit along the Seine. After a while we found a nice restaurant in a back alley and seated ourselves for dinner.) Dinner was excellent, with some nice wine and classic french cuisine: pasta. It contrasted nicely with the horrible lunch we ate at the Louvre. I thought it would be nice to take a ...

Trip with Missy

... that idea and went to the Six/Seven around the corner to waste no time. Upstairs Steve and Missy shared a Hookah (spelling is off, I'm sure). For those of you that have seen Alice and Wonderland, it's the thing the caterpillar smokes out of and blows funny shapes with the smoke. I tried it, but did not fancy the taste. But they are flavored, and fun to actually smoke. However, the fact that it was flavored TOBACCO was not a huge interest to me either because I don't smoke, so ...
