Monday 18 August

A cool day with on and off drizzle. Time to move on from the Meuse and
head towards the Vosges and the National Parks of Alsace Lorraine, north of
Mulhouse. Thought about stopping in a campsite in the Lorraine National Park
but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des

... the other side of the block to watch the race start and with no fences we were able to get super close to the riders as they came through. With Tour De France running through our veins it was a unanimous decision to drive a small distance south and catch stage 10. We drove so high up into the mountains that we were amongst the clouds. ... a pub to watch the end of the tour, 4 beers later we decided to ride back up to our hotel. 400 vertical metres. With the beers under the belt it made it an interesting ride. We then caught up with Dave Hollicks and Marc Ransome, showered and headed back to Munster for dinner at la dolce vita, yet again fantastic meal and very reasonably priced.
