      war graves and memorials. Cover some of the Tour De France Route
      - traditionally on two wheels albeit motorised. Visit into Munster
      town and can see the stork nests all around and then we go back over
      La Route Des Cretes for an ealy evening ride - not many roads we have not touched here now.

      Across the border into France and we are soon at our home for the next two days, not a word of English spoken by our hosts but we have the whole of the attic for our stay, evening meal out and an early night.

      ... right in front of the lake.

      Tuesday 19 August

      Still cool, but with sunny intervals. Decided to stay an
      extra night here, to explore the local area.

      Spent the morning housekeeping. Afternoon ride into
      nearby, lakeside town of Gérardmer. Very pleasant forested, countryside around
      here, with pretty chalet type houses. Lots of walks and cycle rides, with
      skiing in the winter ...

      ... us, and I think the balance now is good - it's feeling in control, rather than being controlled where the balance was lost and I think that was down to a lot of different things all happening over a period of time. I want to keep some balance now I've got it back! Gosh, blah, blah, blah...... You see, it is time to go home.....! PS no luck with the gas - we're on a student stove now so no more 'a la carte' menus for us! Anyone for Pot ...

      ... gravel car park on the side of the mountain and through the 'I translate app' we were able to chat to some lovely French people who went above and beyond to accommodate us by moving their vans a little closer so we could squeeze in. By the end of the afternoon there was no chance of us moving...the car park turned into a last in first out policy, but we didn't mind. As the rain and fog set in overnight we watched the World Cup final on Luke and Kate's TV. ...
