... traffic and roadworks but eventually I was travelling down the road I thought Jim had taken when he passed me going in the opposite direction. Eventually we met up and reached the airport after a number of hair raising incidents and then drove on to Paul and Sheila in Winchester where I just managed to slide down out of the driver's seat and collapse until revived with a large wine. Having to drive Astrid alone on unknown roads, getting used to her size/controls ...

Chicago and home Up at 9 and once again I get told off by the girls for waking them with music ( today was local hero and I'm leaving on a jet plane !). Having checked out, Pet goes to Art museum whilst I take the girls to Navy pier having booked the thrill ride on a speedboat. However, on arrival we are told that the water is too choppy so take a speed bait tour instead which is fun. Back to hotel and then to Gage for brunch ...
