... commenced our trip back to Reading on the trains. It was sooo good to finally arrive back at Mat and Jo´s. Mat ordered us pizza whilst we told stories about the people we had met and the places we had been to. We were so exhausted we had the best night´s sleep ever!
But it wasn´t for long! Up again at 8am to get through the mountains of laundry, posting stuff home, buying christmas trees from B ...
... is booked for me to continue from 17th October, and there's no way I'm missing the Thailand elephant adventure. As I'm sure no-one is really interested in what I do in the UK, check back in sometime after the end of October for an update on Australia. For the more sensitive among you, I must caution you that Debbie is with me in Australia for the first 2 weeks...you have been warned!
Reading, England, United Kingdom dingleq... the airport from the hotel. Once in the airport there was yet another wait as the check in people didn't know about the flight change, I think our letter that we got saying the plane on Wednesday was cancelled helped us out a fair bit. Got through all the security checks and suchlike, Stef got some tea from one of the many "international shop"s, we then sat down for some tea in the same resteraunt that we had tea in about ...
London, United Kingdom stefausNight out for dinner with most of the people from work. Before I started at Costa, the team had won about GBP500 (I don't have a pound symbol on my PC.. only dollars!) for having the best marks over 6 months from the mystery shopper things we had. So we all went out to dinner at an Indian restaurant called Sandar Palace in Reading.. First time I'd ever really had Indian before but it was all good. Everyone at work is very nice and a lot of fun to hang out with so it was nice to be ...
Reading, United Kingdom chelbynzSorry, it's been over a week since I last updated....I'm not dead, I've just been really busy. I went to sign the contracts at my temp agency on Tuesday. I went in early on Wednesday so I would have first chance on any jobs that came in. I ended up getting a job for 2pm that day. Went for a walk around Harrods to kill some time beforehand. The work itself was really boring but I'm more than used to that...at least I'll have a paycheque if I ever manage to get a bank ...
London, United Kingdom andrea465... for my delayed arrival from Madrid. ...you find 59 Wayne Rooney look-alikes/wannabes in the hotel pub when arriving from the airport, all discussing what they would have done (that "Goran" isn't doing) in order to repeat something that happened 40 years ago. ...the receptionist at the hotel ask you if you have been to the hotel before. No, never. Ok, let me give you a rundown of the place ...
Reading and Chertsey, United Kingdom stevefnI had been back home in SA for 3 weeks. I landed back in the UK on Saturday the 22nd October. Alex, my girlfriend, wanted to have a quiet dinner with me which I was expecting so I didn't think any of it. Everybody else had plans for the evening so Alex and I headed into Kingston for dinner. On the way to the ATM we bumped into Walt and Ings who were just as shocked to see me there. They had ...
Kingston-on-Thames, United Kingdom rrennie... before we continued on to Rich and Jo's wedding in nearby Suffolk. It was a hectic schedule, but we wanted to try and see as many friends and family as we could, during our brief return home. We left my mum and dad's house in Maldon during the morning so that I could meet up with Rich and Jo at the hotel in Lavenham, where their wedding reception was to be held. This was the primary reason for our return home over Christmas, as Rich had asked me to be ...
