Chester

A travel blog entry by jayton

On Friday we had a thrilling time going to the laundrette to do the washing and a trip to the local shops. After that we had a walk through a local park. Nice and sunny but cold.

Saturday we went to Chester. We had been there last time but this time had a long walk along the river and then onto the wall. Saw a boat going through the locks onto the canal. The man was controlling the ...

Ellesmere

A travel blog entry by jayton

Back down the motorway on Thursday to Ellesmere Port where the Waterways museum is. I guess you have to like boats, especially narrow boats, to enjoy a day out here. Just like yeaterday the weather was kind n the morning, but by 3.30 it was getting dark and cold.

still, we had a good look around the museum and spent about three hours there. Lots of things to see and in summer there are boat trips up the canal.

A good day out.

We have been to the Trent and Mersey before, it starts in the Nottingham area and we walked along it at Shardlow near Derby. We have now walked along both ends of the canal as Anderton is very near the end where it joins the Mersey.

These exotic looking birds with their velvety plumage, unlikely crests and tails dipped in yellow gloss paint are not uncommon and when they are around they can be very easy to see indeed, but they have a special quality that makes them particularly sought after. Some years they ...
