Today we drove to Newcastle and went to see Hadrian's wall at Wallsend because that was where the wall started. It was the site of a Roman fort called Segendunum and I got a Roman coin with Hadrian on it.

... right opposite the stadium. Had one beer there then it was time to head in (after the girls ravaged all our left over fish and chips!). The stadium was so much more Awesome than I had expected. From TV you can only see the small stand. But beyond this all the stands go up about three or four tiers. The stadium was at capacity with 52,000 people - the biggest crowd I've ever been at. ... with the Virgin Rail customer service dudes in India, when I finally hung up the deadline to buy tickets online passed.
