today everyone else has gone for what will doubtless be a very soggy hike up Kinder Scout. Having no raincoat and only one pair of usefull shoes, I opted to stay and mind the boat.
Between showers (and under some) I took a stroll to the nearest town, New Mills.

Set off from home just before 2.30pm. Had a good ride over on the motorway as you do. Got within 48miles of Manchester City and we had to drop down to 50mph then 40mph because of queueing. So had a steady run then it picked up again, then we came upon more queues. Then incident ahead which appeared to be roadworks. We were pleasEd to get off the M62 onto the M60. Geoff had already checked where we needed to be on Google ...

Two of which are no longer there - honestly I knew pre kids we did a lot of shopping, but it really shouldn't have impacted them that much when we went home! A little sad not to see them there. I didn't have long, so I picked up a few things that we needed and followed them back to Legoland.

    Then ...

    Highlights of the city:
Manchester is by far one of my favourite cities in the UK after London. I was surprised how nice the city was and how catered it was for tourism. The Manchester Town Hall is an excellent example of the history of the city with the statue of Albert situated outside the town hall. The town hall can be reached by tram by changing at St Peters Square.
MediaCity UK is a new development in the Salford area of the ...
