... of grimy, dirty London, and therefore we have to wear shoes in the common areas to prevent the bottoms of our feet from becoming black and dirty. Our housemates reassure us that it's not due to a lack of cleaning, it's just because 6 people in a house drag in so much London dust on their feet.

Our housemates seem lovely so far; an Italian couple, a Canadian guy and a German girl. Hopefully we have a good 3 months here!

We slept in!!! Ed eventually woke up at about 10.00! First stop of the day was to the supermarket and, as at home, the supermarket was packed. Finding a trolley was a problem. We managed to get what we thought was what we needed and headed back to Royal Court. While we were there we went to the famous shopping malls, saw the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world), the Burj Al Arab (the only 7*hotel in the world), and we visited the spice souk and bought far too many pairs of shoes! Every day was 44 degrees plus, so we did spend a lot of time in the pool keeping cool, and of course working on the tans!
