... ducks, white swans, and peacocks, these birds were a permanent inhabitant of the castle grounds. We noted that they must be special to Leeds Castle as the properties crest was adorned with two intertwined black swans.

We misguidedly opt to stay on the southern shore. We are guided away from the main river to a bridge straddling Deptford Creek. ... where we were. It was drizzling, can't tell you how often we had our rain jackets on and off today, but mostly off luckily.
We wandered up the Mall which is where Stage 3 of the Tour de France finishes tomorrow, unsure whether to try and see any of it. Neither of us are really interested but we kind of wonder whether we should, probably a once in a lifetime chance and it looks like from the route that it's going to get in our way all day anyway!

... of catching the 2:30 screening of War horse. 1:30: guy at theatre said nothing available but £47-95 tix. We left. Went to a half price booth where the guy made a call and then told us to return in 1-2 hrs. So we went to have lunch in Convent Garden. Enjoyed an italian place overlookibg the square where the kids enjoyed stunts pulled by buskers. Lunch £60. Then some yummy gelato. At 3pm we returned to the half price booth.
