Monday January 26th This Wednesday was supposed to be the day we set off on our big adventure and took the Chunnel to France and beyond. That's what we were supposed to do, but our car broke down big style at the end of last week throwing our plans into disarray. It has come round far quicker than I anticipated, and quite frankly I am terrified. My to-do list right now make my brain hurt.

Headed up to Manchester with my best friend Charlotte (we drove up), stayed in possible the most expensive and classiest hotel in Manchester (of course.... Because One Direction were also staying there). Got drunk in the hotel, saw the boys... Left the next day and drove back to London. Also paid £40 for a breakfast in the hotel.... TWO ...
... are an ingenious way of allowing the horse pulling the boat to cross over the canal without having to be unhitched. It is impossible to describe and even needs a bit of thought when you see it in real life, but if you are interested have a google and see how they were designed. There is also a tunnel for the horse to go through when the canal passes under the road. Very clever.
