Brilliant start.....

.....as Dan and I manage to miss our first train atthe beginning of the trip!! Excellent!! After moi's rabid seraching over a month earlier to guarantee us £16 super-apex singles to London we manage to miss our train by nano-seconds. In fact Dan was on the train but I was 20 meteres away running with my big ...

Love Spoons

... the beach and had sandwiches amongst the pidgeons - some guy left his sandwich for about 10 seconds to get something from the bar and at least 20 pesky birds were on it in seconds!

Then we visited Machynlleth - known as the spiritual capital of Wales - home of the last Welsh led parliament in the 1400s. We were lucky enough to visit on market day - Josh spoiled me with a small dragon charm for my necklace and also a Welsh ...

... musky animals. In addition, whilst the lawn would have been large enough for our five man tent, the whopping great big pond in the middle of it made it impossible to pitch a tent unless you wanted to balance the tent over the top of it. This would make for a bit of a wet night, with the dog whining incessantly at the ferrets the whole time. Nope, we made the right decision to drive home later.

The rest of the Bewdley Mountaineering Club were arriving back in ...

We spent a good 20 minutes at the summit. It was busy - shouldn't these people be at work on a Friday?! (I know, I should too...) FYI, there is excellent mobile ...

Canal Boat trip-Fabulous

... I have enclosed some photo's. This trip took us over the Pontcyscllte Aqueduct which is about 200 feet above ground. Following the trip I walked back over the aqueduct and took these photo’s. No way would Glenn come with me as he is not fond of heights. At a little shop on the other side of the canal I found a small recipe book to bring home of English cakes and scones. Today was a long ...

Parade along the way!

... parading through the city and I quickly snapped this shot. I thought the parade was for us, however Gordon promptly indicated to me that it was for the town. Too bad!

Following our visit to Chester we made good time on the freeway to Conwy, Wales. This has a large castle as you enter town and you can walk all the streets in about an hours time which I proceeded to do. Glenn and Gordon set about finding photo ...

Retirement doo with a difference

Group of 25 headed up Snowdon in celebration of Andy Duggards retirment.

Brilliant time was had by all, probably the best retirement I have been on (obviously sponsored by Carlsburg)

Congratulations Andy.

Proved to be a good last workout before we go - calves are feeling the effect though.

Well done to those that completed this mountain for the first time - Scafell next!

Whale of a time in Wales

... of St Tysilio of the red cave". A couple of touristy photos and a souvenir coin .... they had a machine which pressed a penny into a coin with the town name on it ... check the video out on FB. Next stop Bangor ... insert childish giggle here. We tried to get some lunch of Bangers & Mash in Bangor but we had to settle for some Chicken Piri Piri. Nice little town but really not all that much to it.

Last stop of the day was to go to ...

A Welsh keep deep ontop of the Mountain side

... giant hill. The guesthouse was falling down but the keep was not, once we had made the hike all the way to the top of the Keep to take some awesome shots againts the mountains the hike was totally worth it. The only trouble I had with the hike was dodging the blueberries.. (ie sheep poop) Felt like I was trying not to hit the land mines. Other then that it was a great stop with a touch of history.
