Weeks 4 (and 5 will follow tomorrow)

... and Blackburn game at a local pub called, The Ladybrook. It was a excellent time, and we decided to finish off the weekend by going to the renowned Trafford Centre- one of England’s only shopping malls that they deem to be absolutely incredible. To be honest- it was decorated similar to Partridge Creek, and it was probably the same amount of people you would see at the Macy’s Day parade in a place a 3rd the size of ...

Back home and it's all over (for this year...)

... they decided the Manchester flight would go from gate 7, which wasn't really a gate but a cunning set of stairs disguised as a gate. This lead to a bus that drove all the way round the airport to an Airbus 320 with 'Star Alliance' seemingly crudely stenciled on the side (they really do need to hire a graphics designer). We had to climb up steps in the rain to the aircaft too - no civilised departure fingers for us BMI monkeys. We were ...

Bad Teeth and Funny Accents

... so that is where I went to. The museum was pretty much what you would expect of a museum. It started in their younger years and worked its way up. Along with pictures and Beatles memorabilia. I didn't know too much about them other than the basics. I learned that the drummer(Ringo Starr) wasn't the original drummer at first but was later inserted when they were about to be big. What a lucky guy! Learned that they got into the drug scene ...

... and just say I was in character. Niiiice. So along with my friends Marilyn Monroe, Aladin (along with Abu the monkey), Edward Scissorhands, Amy Whinehouse and Twiggy, I made myself across town to a venue called Nation for the Bestival Reunion Tour, containing the likes of Kissy Sell-Out, Rob Da Bank and some band called the Presets (it was Liverpool Music Week fyi). Double Niiiice. So we hung out there for a bit, got swalled, made my way to the front of the ...

... to discover Penny Lane. Which for the record is a run down street with only one sign that isn't graffiti. This tired us out which meant we needed a beer. So we thought why have a beer when we can have the whole brewery....tour. I.E. we did a tour of Cains brewery with a Willy Wonka ish tour guide but instead of candy we got beer....Cheers!

Day Two - York

... of the day was the National Railway Museum. What a great place, for kids, young and old; I took notice of lots of older men eager to explore the museum. Les and I headed off to see the Royal carriages, which are on display in the Royal hall. Here were train carriages used by Queen Victoria, King George & the Queen Mom, and carriages that were used up until 1972 to transport Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh across Britain. Queen Victoria's ...

Pre-trip jitters, quivvers and thoughts!

... of antibacterial hand gel (thanks for the tip Luisa) oh, and a shed load of small packets of aloe vera handy pack tissues, as from my indepth (ha!) research I get the feeling that there are no toilet facilities, eg no sanny bins, no running water, no paper, just simply a toilet and quite possibly a door (if i'm lucky). Anyhoo...looking forward to my night out a week Saturday - will be great fun - I'll be the one with the large compass on my head singing "She ...
