Arrived at the end of navigation, Langley Lock in Eastwood, and moored on the visitor mooring in the basin. The manager of the basin came and introduced himself and seemed a very friendly, helpful person. We plan to stay overnight and make our way back down the Erewash tomorrow.

... trip. While we were in the area we decided to drive into the city of Leicester and visit Leicester Cathedral where King Richard III is now buried. We have wanted to visit here since we attended his reburial at Market Bosworth on our first weekend at the cottage. Today we have to hit the road again and drive from Newcastle upon Tyne down to Leicester to where T's mother is incarcerated in a Care Home. However as the route takes us past Sheffield, we are taking the opportunity to look up one of my pals that I first started climbing with. Dave is older than I am and has had MS for about 30years. Dave we have kept in touch with over the years but it is about 8 ...
