The stuff I had written by way of introduction suddenly looked awful, but it was too late for rewrites, the doors had opened and Jennie was gliding towards us, a vision in white. I’ve never seen Dixon look so happy and I’ve seen him on drugs. Suddenly it was my turn to speak. I had cotton mouth and I was terrified the words wouldn’t come out, but they did. Timidly I coaxed them forward and welcomed everyone. Then Jennie interrupted me ...

      • Much more daily public drunkenness (love the pub on every corner). Kids have gotten a new education in crazy college kid behavior.
