    ... the museum. We also visited the shop and the demonstration area. Shown how they make the items, paint the patterns etc. Samara was given a lesson on plate painting. We dropped Samara off and then visited Lichfield cathedral. A magnificent building. We arrived during the Evensong service. The acoustics were wonderful. The cathedral is over 750 years old.     Holiday Inn Express, Lichfield. Weather showers then fine Arrived in Abbots Bromley, found the school and Samara. It is in a lovely English village. Walked around the village then drove to Lichfield to check in at our hotel. Back to the village for dinner at the pub with Samara. The area is very green and lots of agricultural activities around.     ... I have never seen her so besotted. The gift shop here got a big work out, including a carved running monk. We walk around to town full of Tudor style houses visiting New Place and Nashes House. I had seen a Time Team excavation of part of the back yard where it is believed the Bard built a house where there is now a garden.     ... movies and TV! So glad that I didn't cancel the account.

  • No Tea---as in tea time as a normal, everyday activity. There is coffee everywhere (loving Caffe Nero and of course Starbucks). Told the kids all about this sacred activity and that we would have to practice having tea and snacks and work around that schedule... So wrong so far.
  • JET LAG is much worse. What is going on? ...

    ... what it was or what caused it, I am hoping that it was a one-off and not indicative of more problems in the future which, unfortunately, these things usually are with me...

    Next week is a new week and I am going to start the week afresh with renewed vigor and enthusiasm for the Resolutions. Now the reviews are over at work and that I (should) change jobs properly on Monday, I really don't have any more excuses!
