      ... in is gorgeous. Stepped outside this morning and out the front is a paddock with beautiful horses in it. After breakfast, I drove to Romsey to see Sami at the bank. I got a parking ticket for parking in a loading zone for an hour...whoops that was £35. Had a coffee with Sami then hit the road again. Spent most of the time on motorways. Missed my exit twice, which probably put another 20min on my trip. ...

      ... northerly route via Monmouth, M5, M42, M40 and were confronted with a constant downpour, as if driving constantly within the rainy front. One particular lorry submerged the car in a swamp of water - total wet-out and 'this could be the end of the world as we know it'. We survived 4+ hours of rainy driving to return to a damp Syresham and a cold cottage.

      B and H went the obvious route via M4, M25, M26, M20, M2 and home, arriving in bright sunshine! The moral of this ...

      ... to it, that I could have touched it! Hanging next to the Armada Portrait were a very well known painting of Jane Seymour by Hans Holbein, as well as well known portraits of Mary Tudor and their younger brother Edward. Before leaving the Abbey, I went through an area called The Grotto. The Grotto contains carvings of different sea objects and is covered with ormer shells from the Channel Islands. After leaving the Abbey, I made sure to have afternoon tea at the Duchess' Tea Room.
