We got up this morning and Val and I went for a run around Pendennis Point. It was rainy and windy and not very nice, so we scrapped our plans to take a ferry trip to St Mawes. After the run we all had a nice breakfast at our B&B, and then went into town where we spent the morning looking into shops and having coffee. We had a nice lunch downtown with Cornish Pasty. In the afternoon we ...

... breakfast, we walked into town and looked in the shops along the Main Street. Blue sky actually came out and it turned into a nice day. Laura bought a pair of Dr. Martin's shoes there. ... at Portreath was also very nice, with a fantastically friendly host. The only thing that didn't work out well was my walk down to see the sunset over the Atlantic. The walk down through trees was nice but walking bank on the dark in flip flops and having to pick up supplies for breakfast resulted in sore feet. Anyway, if I come back to Cornwall, Portreath will be my destination of choice on the ...

... which turned out to be a very nice experience. On arrival in Penzance I found the local bike shop, which fitted a new chain within five minutes and told me to get a new gear hanger ASAP. Later this was easily done at Halfords and my bike was running smooth and quiet again. Excellent mechanic in Penzance, the closest town to lands end if you're down that way! The coast at Penzance was also appeasing on the eye. For the first time on this trip I bought ...
