Great nights sleep, foggy in morning and didn't clear till after 3 in the afternoon. Easy day 15 miles and 3000 ft of ascent. Saw two really good forts. Walked through a very scenic park apparently owned by the vacuum guy(Dyson). B&B closed on arrival so sat in pub writing ...

B&B was ok in the end, smelt damp when I arrive. Took longer route along canal. Lots of ups and downs today and lots of long barrows including hetty peglers tump which you needed a torch for because you went in so far. Climbed tyndale beacon which got narrower and narrower as you got higher, not much space at the top. Weather good again, a bit cooler today ...

Glorious weather (to hot for some) all the tourist attractions were packed with visitors. The inn I stayed at last night were hopeless 08.30 breakfast meant that's when the chef got up, didn't get going till 10. 21 miles and 5000ft of ascent , I'm well and truly cream crackered, be glad of an easy 15 ...

... t nearly as many pecans and the gooey part wasn't nearly as gooey. The cream tea was to be expected, delicious, and it has become my fall back at all of our afternoon teas.
After a couple of hours in town, we headed back home for the night. Stratford on Avon was a nice English town and would be a great place to stay if you wanted the English town feel that was still close enough to London to see the big city as well. Overall, not bad but not too terribly exciting.
