    ... what had happened, she in turn phoned Canterbury and they confirmed that said ****** dash cam had been purchased from them, we left the store clutching yet another gift receipt, hmmmmm what can I buy ;-).     10am and we are off to Durham to see my dearest sister. It's a beautiful day to drive the 300 odd miles. I couldn't believe how many different sets are roadworks there are..with 40 & 50 mph limits its slowing us down! We saw two red kites over Oxford, and just after Doncaster there were six windmills.     Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! No joy in persuading otherwise. Oh the joy of living on on Island - western Kenya to Southampton no delays - Southampton to Isle of Wight....... Anyway eventually they must have taken pity on us and we got on 10am - thank you Red Funnel! Happy ...

    ... view of the Isle of Wight where most of the stone was brought from to build the Priory. Other mounds including St Catherine's - workers moved
    on clear days the spire from Salisbury can be seen - but not today.

    We have a look around the church which has beautiful furnihings, windows and gravestones and monuments. The pulpit is gld plated eagle and lions which is lovely.

    We started our journey at 10 am , later than planned due to last minute packing of my dresses! We picked up Alan and headed to Romsey to drop off the car and to be picked up by Richard who then dropped us off at Southampton. Embarking was carried our not to bad and we boarded around 3 pm.
