After nipping to Lawson for a quick breakfast of onigiri and pastry, we left the bags at our hotel and walked down to Matsuyama-jo.

It was a beautiful sunny day and we even saw the small steam train on the tram rails again, with passengers waving as they passed!

The hill up to the castle is pretty steep so you can either walk up or get the convenient ropeway to the top.

... of the station and came over to us, pointing to the tram and saying No.1. We were very grateful that he had kept his eye on us and set us right. With little fuss, we boarded the tram and found ourselves at the required destination. Happily our hotel was at one of the corners where the train station is situated.

... changed into not-real-money coins and after much discussion with the girl that worked there it transpired they couldn't be changed back into real money, or any other kind of gaming currency and the ones we had were only valid on one game - a fishing game.
