Great staff, hotel and food. Service was great and it was clean with really helpful staff. 13km out of city but free shuttle bus to beaches and malls and taxis cheap.

Not close to anything, so plan to spend money on a taxi to get here if you land at night-- almost 48 km from the airport at night
There is a metro during the day that takes you all over, and then a public bus that drops off/picks up right outside the hotel, so a really good place if you're willing to do public transit
Free shuttle to a few shopping areas and beach
LOVELY staff- very friendly and beautiful English
    Beautiful rooms, rooftop pool
Has a restaurant , cafe, room service-- not that expensive, and food right in the hotel
There is a ex-pats "colony" just about 1 mile away with a FULLY STOCKED grocery store. I am a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant--- they had soy yogurt, soy milk, etc, and I was thrilled! Also, a great Thai restaurant with tofu in the same shopping plaza.

Today has been long after arriving at the hotel at 8am. We managed to get our room early and get some sleep before exploring this awesome city. I wasn't overly bothered about coming here but we love it. Its really clean and holds a lot of world records for basically having the biggest of everything. We did loads of walking around today which was …

We have arrived safely in Dubai, in the hotel ready to rest before the flight to Paris! I thought the Spa treatments sounded quite alluring but the soft pillow an big comfy bed soon had me fast asleep. The flight was good, I was given GF food for the meals although no snacks were offered for me (the packet of Fantails I bought at the airport were a nice snack for me).Thankfully they had little pillows as ...

    ... better at ignoring them.

Lunch was typical Arab food today and we enjoyed sitting under the shade, close to the creek, with a breeze, and having a nice lunch. But afterward, there wasn't much we wanted to do so we went out to a main street to find a taxi. The taxi that picked us up was a taxi from Sharjah and he isn't supposed to do that but he had been around the block and seen us and came back and we were ...

... so we paid the $10/hour to make reservations for our arrival in Istanbul. Today we visited the biggest mall in the world, saw the biggest single aquarium tank in the world and went up the highest building in the world all in a few square kilometers. We spent a couple hours at the mall before our reservation to go to “At The Top” (the observation deck) of the Burj Khalifa. It is over 200 stories tall and the can ...
