Great staff, hotel and food. Service was great and it was clean with really helpful staff. 13km out of city but free shuttle bus to beaches and malls and taxis cheap.

Not close to anything, so plan to spend money on a taxi to get here if you land at night-- almost 48 km from the airport at night
There is a metro during the day that takes you all over, and then a public bus that drops off/picks up right outside the hotel, so a really good place if you're willing to do public transit
Free shuttle to a few shopping areas and beach
LOVELY staff- very friendly and beautiful English
    Beautiful rooms, rooftop pool
Has a restaurant , cafe, room service-- not that expensive, and food right in the hotel
There is a ex-pats "colony" just about 1 mile away with a FULLY STOCKED grocery store. I am a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant--- they had soy yogurt, soy milk, etc, and I was thrilled! Also, a great Thai restaurant with tofu in the same shopping plaza.

Simply loved it it all, can't pick a favourite place however the beauty of Utah did enthral me. Just amazing.

did you know that a B52 Bomber once hit the Empire State Building many years ago ( I promise that is the last of the did you knows). What a magnificent building that is too.

must away, one more entry to go for the last leg to bring me full circle.

    yawl sleep tight now.

Today was going to be a long flight from Karachi to Dubai, with headwinds forecast and Iranian airspace keeping me over water all day. The Pakistani controller seemed determined to treat me like a boat and had me tacking upwind, eventually asking for his supervisor quickly got me some direct routing.

... few head bangs later we stopped to watch the sun set across the desert! Beautiful. On to the Arabian village where we were treated to belly dancing, camel rides, shisha, henna painting and a bbq feast! All in all a great few days in Dubai, although we both agreed that whilst it was fun and we loved our desert safari Dubai didn't quite live up to our expectations and we won't be heading back in a hurry. Maybe in years to come we will visit again to see how much more it has ...

We began just chit chatting like you do on planes with complete strangers (ok, I admit, I can be a little nosey!) and little by little she told me her story of “winning” a green card in a lottery (which some people do year after year and never are selected) and how she at the age of 29 chose to leave everything familiar to move to the US completely alone with only one name and phone # to reach out to. ...
