Great staff, hotel and food. Service was great and it was clean with really helpful staff. 13km out of city but free shuttle bus to beaches and malls and taxis cheap.

Not close to anything, so plan to spend money on a taxi to get here if you land at night-- almost 48 km from the airport at night
There is a metro during the day that takes you all over, and then a public bus that drops off/picks up right outside the hotel, so a really good place if you're willing to do public transit
Free shuttle to a few shopping areas and beach
LOVELY staff- very friendly and beautiful English
    Beautiful rooms, rooftop pool
Has a restaurant , cafe, room service-- not that expensive, and food right in the hotel
There is a ex-pats "colony" just about 1 mile away with a FULLY STOCKED grocery store. I am a vegetarian and lactose-intolerant--- they had soy yogurt, soy milk, etc, and I was thrilled! Also, a great Thai restaurant with tofu in the same shopping plaza.

Today has been long after arriving at the hotel at 8am. We managed to get our room early and get some sleep before exploring this awesome city. I wasn't overly bothered about coming here but we love it. Its really clean and holds a lot of world records for basically having the biggest of everything. We did loads of walking around today which was …

... Dubai do not walk anywhere outside- the daily routine seems to be a combination of air conditioned car, air conditioned home, and air conditioned shopping mall with short brief walks between the three). After finishing with the Segway in a stifling heat, DH was in serious need of medicinal a/c and we tried desperately to get into a mall only to find that they don't have entrances off of the street- it's just assumed that you will be driving your air conditioned limo into the ...

... it was so appropriate for our final hours in Dubai and as I said already, i had a tear in my eye as the song, lights and water worked in perfect harmony, I think Douglas might have too! lol I would defiantly say it is a must see and defiantly think its much more beautiful in the evening. And so after all that excitement, and having made sure our hangovers were well and truly out of our systems we made our way back to Abu Dhabi, to meet up for the next part of our adventure with ...

... Chinook mall or Cross Iron Mills with a mixture of different types of people. This mall is the only one in UAE that has an indoor skiing arena; this place reminded me too much of Calgary, so we didn't bother going in. The next day we went on a city tour which we didn't get to complete because we had to catch our flight back. We are definitely going back to see more and hopefully get to stay longer. ...

... Sharjah is the third largest. Along the way the architecture was amazing and a strong influence by Ottoman design. Locals live in beautiful houses if they can afford them. If you are a local and don't have a house, then the government will house you free of charge in social housing. If you are not a national, then you have to live in cheap flats, apartments or homes that offer cheap rent. We rode on amazing roads and highways, and ...
