      ... a stroll down to Venice proper but not much was open at 9.30am. Got back to apartment and slept for 4 hours. Even more stalls in the afternoon, lots of live music - very cool atmosphere. Can't believe we are finally in America and it feels like a cross between Coolangatta and Byron Bay! In the winter.       Had a good sleep last night. Dave's got gastro or food poisoning, he thinks it might be the Mexican Beef, I had a little of it & luckily I'm ok. Gerry isn't well this morning either Sylvia had to give him medication which has made him really sleepy. We went to Trader Joes to get some groceries it was quite an experience.       ... outside my hotel in the evening and walk to any number of restaurants or entertainment. Surfing remains my favorite activity to engage in when visiting Hawaii, which is another reason to love Oahu; there are surf breaks there for all levels unlike the Big Island where the surfing is for advanced surfers only. Anyway, I assume my next trip to Hawaii will probably include a a stop on the Kona side of the Big Island since I haven’t been over there yet, but I will always return to Oahu, my favorite island.
