        Mall Boy

A travel blog entry by skaiiskaiiskaii on Sep 10, 2015

I received an email to confirm that we could pick up Jake's new phone today, so after a lie in, we set off to find the bus to Brea Mall. We set off in the direction provided by Google maps, but there was no bus stop where the map stated. We then ventured up the street and after asking numerous, clueless people, we asked at a pizza joint who managed to help us, and we got the 50 bus followed by the 57. On arrival ...

... same place as the singing and dancing guy who happily continued on in his own little world. 'Good for him,' I thought, smiling. We thought that Sunset Boulevard would be 'happenin'' and busy, but it was all spaced out and rubbish. We walked down to see what there was to see, but we got bored and ended up going for food. We found a nice Asian restaurant selling Chinese/Japanese/Thai food so we ate there. It was delicious. After this, we just decided ...

LA - Malibu Creek State Park

Today we headed out with Mary, Adrian, Miranda and Jude to Malibu Creek State Park. We hiked out to the site where MASH was filmed. It was a lovely hike - about 4.5 miles long but fairly flat. There isn't much out there but you can see some of the landscape and there are a couple of old ambulances and a jeep. They have a few signs around with photos and explanations of where parts of the camp were. As you walk around you start to recognise some of the scenery from the ...

Today was a huge achievement. We headed to Santa Monica and straight for the pier. Whats so special about here though? It's the end of the trail and so concludes our trip across America via Route 66. It actually felt a bit emotional as well.

There were a lot of people having their picture taken next to the sign, some of them you might question whether they actually have done the route at all but it seems like a popular place all the ...

... Superbowl Sunday. We went to a bar in Hollywood and ate the typical wings and various other fried food while watching the game. Unfortunately our seaHAWKS lost in a real nail biter at the end, and the afternoon solidified my interest in NFL.

      • We spent a day in downtown L.A. looking for graffiti and ate Philippe’s famous French dipped sandwiches (they’ve been making them for almost ...
