Chris' experience was pretty equal to mine but at least he had 2 Slovakian guys who got scammed along with him, so he didn't feel quite as uncomfortable. All in all, this was our final activity in Istanbul and it left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We checked the tripadvisor reviews directly after and it seems that everyone who ...

My taboos were clarified and what came before as ideas ready, full of unwarranted connections between Islam, terrorism, violence, war, sexism, submission, today I see solidarity, faith, discipline, protection, care, cleaning, worship, prosperity and above LOVE everything. I could see, feel and live. I'm feel emotion to hear five times a day mosque’s sound of the call to time of prayer. No, I didn’t become Muslim (yet), but today ...

... the old town of Istanbul, and we had a nice lunch of kofte and calamari; as well as an opportunity to try traditional Turkish 'cay' (tea), which was strong but tasty. After our ferry trip we took the advice of a Chinese girl we had met on the ferry, and ventured into Sultanahmet (old city) to a Turkish Hamam (bath-house). We had heard about Turkish baths and were keen to give it a go. Emerging afterwards from ...
