Well our last full day here turned out to be quite special. Omnia still had leave from work so was able again to chauffeur us to yet another excursion! This time it was to see the Lady Lever Art Gallery, which is at Port Sunlight. This meant nothing to me, but sounded good....well, to start with Port Sunlight (think Sunlight soap) is just beautiful - it is a model garden village and conserved as a heritage site. It ...

    Wednesday 16th July - Bollington

Sue & Ken took us to Styal Quarry Bank Mill, where we had lunch & walked around the gardens, which are being restored. They are above & on the side of a, steep cliff above the millstream. In the evening we took them out to dinner in Wilmslow before returning to ...

... shopping centre. A helpful attendant there told which bus to catch and we had about a twenty-five minute ride back into the city.

We got off a few streets from the cleaners because it wasn’t heading in the right direction and had to walk about ten minutes through some streets to get to the cleaners. We picked up our washing and had another fifteen minute walk back to the hotel. By the time we got back at 5.30pm, I’d had enough ...
