Arrived safely after a great flight from Australia. Traveled business class with Singapore and get 10/10 for service and great food. Transferred to Lufthansa and again good service but beds not as comfortable. First day just wandered around Manchester and got our bearings. Busy place and very industrial. At 7.30 we had dinner with Peter and Jennifer's son and daughter in law Tim and Emma and Peter's sister (Goldie's Great Aunty) and brother in law Barbara and Keith. It was great to meet them. Such a welcoming family.

The toilet was pretty confusing because you had to press a lot of buttons and there was a cafe nearby. the train ...

    Monday 30th
    12 miles - Dunham Town

We had a slow start today. We woke to really heavy rain and the showers continued on and off all morning and the early part of the afternoon. We thought we would give it till 10am for the rain to stop then set off regardless. Then I remembered I had a parcel to post. The nearest post office was in Worsley, just a mile or so further along the canal so we stopped there, found the footpath to the shops and I set off with my parcel. ...
