    ... at Valle Crucis, the ruined 12th century abbey, for a photo stop before travelling through Horseshoe Pass and over the moors.  Later we stopped at a lovely little town Betws y Coed to have an ice-cream and look at the river tumbling over rocks in little waterfalls and rapids, before returning to Llandudno. It's been a lovely day. We arrived back at about 6pm, and are looking forward to sleeping in a bit to tomorrow and setting our own pace for the day ...

    ... and was once visited by Queen Victoria. As slate is common in the area a special bed was made by local craftsmen for the visit. Apparently the queen thought the bed looked like a tomb and opted to sleep in a more comfortable room! The castle is opulent and the rooms on display have guides that provide lots of interesting information.     ... is the second largest offshore wind farm in the world. The mind boggles when thinking about how they accomplished this feat! The drive to Snowdon National Park is very picturesque as the road hugs the spectacular coast before heading inland to the steep slopes of the mountains.
