    Laid here at 2.47 am not able to sleep. My toes are wriggling with excitement! My head is filled with airports, shows, weather, outfits, cocktails....the list goes on ! ;) Know I need to sleep but it just not happening! Had a lovely pre holiday day little wander round Trafford ...

    I'm not quite sure where Windermere is. Cumbria is the country, but what's Cumberland? I've been having (and loving) Cumberland sausages here and there since we arrived in the UK, and I had a vague idea they were southern, but apparently Cumberland is up here. And Cumbria and Cumberland must come from the same root word, but how close are they geographically? Anyway, I'm glad I had Cumberland sausage last night for dinner at the pub without even realising ...

    ... a window seat (hooray, my favourite) and had great views once we had cleared the rain clouds over Malta.


    I managed to spot the mountains of Corsica then the weather really cleared as we crossed the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees; the good views continued and I saw the Eastenders map come to life as we flew over London. The sun was shining as we flew ...

    ... the opponent’s balls out of the way. It made for interesting viewing for a while, then we strolled back & snoozed on the balcony.





    Dinner that night had a Maltese theme so it was a good introduction to the place. Our fears about half-board were completely removed as the buffet was excellent: many choices of salad, 2 of soup, about 6 main courses, multiple side dishes and lots of desserts, all washed ...
